HVDC Voltage Detector Testing The scope of the work was to evaluate the performance of three commercially available HVDC voltage detectors.
HVDC Line Performance HVDC Line Performance: HVDC lines are similar to HVAC transmission lines in that both use bare stranded conductors, and both must meet or exceed minimum specified electrical clearance to ground and to other conductors at operating voltage. This overview gives more information on the performance characteristics of HVDC lines.
HVDC Corrosion Research Questions and Objectives The basic research questions should address the whole spectrum of problems associated with the operation of HVDC systems. These problems may be focused upon degradation of the system and its components, other utilities, commercial operations, or public safety. Addressing the research question in this manner then provides the greatest value to the utility in terms of maintenance costs, extended service life of the system and reduced risk.
