3D Scanning Technologies: Substation Applications

Modern substations require precise planning, design, and maintenance, but traditional methods of measurement and data collection can be time-consuming, labor-intensive, and challenging in high-voltage environments. 3D scanning technologies are transforming the way utilities approach substation management by providing fast, accurate, and comprehensive digital representations of substation assets. This project explores the use of cutting-edge mobile mapping, reality capture, and 3D scanning technologies to enhance substation applications. By leveraging commercial-off-the-shelf solutions, we aim to improve efficiency across the entire substation lifecycle—from site analysis and design to construction and maintenance.
