The objective of these projects is to provide knowledge, information, and tools to assist in the design, operation, inspection, and maintenance of HVDC Lines, HVDC Converter stations, and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technologies. Some of the topics addressed by these projects include: reference guides, component performance and benchmarking of new designs and refurbishments, component specifications for new construction or refurbishments, life extension guidelines, and electrical effects in the vicinity of HVDC lines.
