Glass and Porcelain Transmission Line Insulators

Project 35.012

With large populations of porcelain and glass insulators approaching or exceeding the end of their expected service life, utilities are seeking end-of-life metrics to prioritize maintenance and replacement programs. To achieve this, utilities seek information on insulator performance (both new and in-service) and how to determine replacement strategies and tools and technologies to inspect and assess them.
