Advanced Conductors

Project 35.015

High-temperature conductors (also known as advanced conductors or high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors) offer the advantages of higher current capacity and lower conductor sag compared to conventional conductors. Knowledge of the performance of these conductors is limited. There is also a need for information on how to specify, select, procure, apply, and maintain these conductors. This project addresses the knowledge gaps giving utilities confidence in applying this technology.
