Program At-a-Glance

Balance of the substation assets: arresters, batteries, switches, and instrument transformers are critical to the reliability, safety, and life of substations. The key research question in this project is how to optimize the maintenance of these assets and maximize their service lives. Facets to be investigated include selection of new equipment, performance monitoring, failure prediction and prevention, and retention of crucial asset knowledge.
